Stemming from memories of affection, origin, and environment, Midori Mukai and Lyric Shen form Rakuen. A body of work which reflects the fruitful landscapes of the pair’s respective motherlands and all which we inherit from it. Together or apart, the works create their own scenery.
Lyric Shen (b. 1993, CA) is a visual artist working primarily in sculpture, ceramic, and tattoo.
They are interested in work as exercises of relatedness practice.
Through their study with clay Shen captures the beautifully erratic characteristics of the material. Forming pieces which are both instinctive and animated.
